Their daughter commissioned it and asked for the porch specifically: the screen door, the ferns, the two chairs that have never matched. I drew the chairs from a photograph and the faces from a video call, which is the way I prefer it. A still photograph flattens a face, a moving one tells you what the face actually does. The pencil rough is here as well.
