The brief was a market seller who could carry a poster, a bus wrap and a sticker without falling apart at small sizes. So the silhouette came first: apron, forearms, a hat with one bent side. Then the face got simplified until it still read at two inches across. The rejected rough beside it is the one they liked less and I liked more.
